Deep in the Amazon rainforest, Indigenous tribes have long revered a small, radiant green tree frog known as the Giant Monkey Frog (Phyllomedusa bicolor). Its secretion—known as Kambo—has been used for centuries as a powerful medicine for purification, stamina, spiritual protection, and healing.
As an ordained clergywoman, Iyanifa, and holistic practitioner with nearly 16 years of experience as a licensed physical therapist, I have witnessed firsthand how this sacred secretion facilitates transformation on every level—physical, emotional, energetic, and spiritual.

Ancestral Lineage: From the Forest to the Sacred Circle
Kambo’s ancient roots stem from tribes such as the Matsés, who called it the “vaccine of the forest.” Used before hunting trips to heighten senses, sharpen reflexes, and silence hunger, it remains a potent initiatory and cleansing tool. Much of what is known in the West about Kambo comes from the writings and fieldwork of Peter Gorman, who lived with and learned from the Matsés people and helped preserve the oral traditions around this frog medicine.
It is through this lineage of sacred respect and practical preparation that I have received my teachings—and through this same reverence, I share them.
The Science of the Secretion: Multi-System Bioactive Power
Kambo contains a cocktail of bioactive peptides that penetrate the lymphatic system, producing powerful effects across the body's systems:

The secretion contains a complex array of bioactive compounds, including:
Phyllocaerulein: Stimulates the digestive system and adrenal cortex
Phyllokinin: Affects blood vessels and smooth muscles
Phyllomedusin: Contracts and relaxes smooth muscles
Dermorphins & Deltorphins: Potent opioid peptides for pain relief
Dermaseptins: Natural antibiotics with antimicrobial properties
Adenoregulin: Binds to adenosine receptors, affecting cellular signaling
Together, these components offer a multi-system reset: detoxing the liver, lymph, and gut while simultaneously energizing the mind and spirit.
Our Conservative & Sacred Approach
While some practitioners begin with six gates or more, at UR Wellness LLC, we begin conservatively—with one to two gates for most first-time recipients. The goal is not intensity, but intelligence—to allow the body to build trust with the medicine and respond organically.
You are never forced to go beyond what feels safe. You are held, heard, and honored.
If you feel overwhelmed, the medicine can be removed at any time.
The intensity lasts approximately 15 minutes—then, a peaceful decline in symptoms begins.
Think of it like a sacred roller coaster: rapid elevation, brief peak, gentle descent.
The Ceremony: Structure, Song & Somatic Presence
A Kambo ceremony at UR Wellness is sacred, intentional, and highly structured. Each element supports you fully:

The Burn with the Tamashii Vine
We begin with small superficial burns (or “gates”) created using the Tamashii vine, a sacred vine we carry as part of our ancestral relationship with this work. This allows Kambo to enter directly into the lymphatic system.
The Rush
Within seconds, the medicine activates intense lymphatic and energetic flushing, often accompanied by:
Heart rate increase
Flushing and facial swelling
Vomiting or other forms of purging
Heat moving from the application site to the crown and back down
Emotional release or spiritual visioning
A ceremonial song, exclusive to our lineage, plays during this process. It serves as a compass—helping you breathe through the rise and return to center with grace.
15 Minutes of Intensity → 20 Minutes of Recovery
After the active phase, you’ll lie down for 20 minutes of recovery, where you’ll be nurtured in stillness, supported in breath, and offered gentle hydration. This window is sacred.
Integration Is Everything
Healing doesn't end when the frog leaves the skin. Integration is the bridge that carries your insights into embodied action.

You may notice effects:
Immediately (heightened hearing, energy, peace)
Within 24 hours (dreams, improved digestion, increased endurance)
To support this, I’ve created the Kambo Integration Companion, which is included in The Serpent & The Frog Bundle. It offers guidance for:
Hydration & electrolyte recovery
Nutritional support
Journaling prompts
Emotional and energetic integration
Chakra reflection templates
Protective and grounding practices

Sacred Synergy: The Snake and The Frog
Through my lineage and lived experience, I have cultivated a biohacked fusion of ancient allies: Kambo + Snake Venom, used together in microdoses to reduce harsh side effects while amplifying the medicine’s clarity.
This sacred synergy allows for:
Gentler somatic experience during Kambo’s peak
Harmonized nervous system and cellular detox
Amplified spiritual connection and strength
This fusion is always offered with reverence, consent, and full education. It is not for trend or thrill—but for transformation.
Who Kambo Is (and Isn’t) For
Kambo can support those navigating:
Autoimmune dysfunction
Chronic fatigue or fog
Emotional trauma
Spiritual disconnection
Addictive patterns
Energetic cleansing
It is not recommended for those with:
Severe Kidney Disease
Dialysis Dependent
Every session at UR Wellness includes a full intake and safety screening.
