How Many Ways in One Day?

Updated: Jun 3, 2023

This is like the question "how many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie roll pop?"

Have you ever actually tried it? If you did you're like me and lost count.

I'm almost getting that way with the number of resourceful ways I have found to commune with this beautiful plant.

I never like to say "use" because that implies extractive colonialist behaviors that I just don't identify with so commune or consume are the words I use when addressing the ways we are given to manipulate this plant.

The list really is endless, so endless that I am actually writing a book on the topic and you will see the results of that soon.

Let's not waste time and get to it.

I have counted on average my daily consumption consists of 12-17 different ways I commune with this particular plant medicine. That is not to say it doesn't accompany other plant medicines or practices.

Most of these ways are used by the whole family are safe for consumption and contain this amazing Cannabis plant all at the same time.

I begin my day by rising from my hemp bed from Open Your Eyes Bedding. A bed that is made up of 200lbs of hemp hulls that conforms to my body as I move throughout the night. I literally made this bed with my bare hands and my son helped me too. Such a great way for the family to participate. Not to mention he absolutely loves sleeping on it and has little to no bad dreams sleeping on this baby.

My bed definitely has hemp sheets that I got here but that's not nearly where it stops. the quality over our regularly scheduled 400 thread count makes a world of difference. I also tend to get really hot at night and these guarantee a comfortable nights sleep.

I usually wake up in the early predawn hours to a scared bath using Hemp infused bath salts from Gwendolyn's Botanica. She is a independent women owned brand that uses tender loving care to create all of her products. I accompany my baths with Dr. Bronner's Hemp Soap mixed with equal parts locally harvested honey as a body wash and shampoo. While I burn a candle from my beautiful sister friend RainbowLiz at A Meaningful Dream

We brush our teeth with Hemp Toothpaste from Whole Foods. As a chemical free family for over 3 years now we have tried to make homemade toothpastes and several more commercial brands and found this one to be the best tasting, most palatable and easy to use.

Regularly we use witch hazel with reusable hemp rounds I got from this cute shop on Etsy. They are anti-bacterial and anti-microbial, meaning my faces is always really clean and feeling good after using these rounds. Plus I can toss them in the wash and resuse them, making them an excellent source for sustainable cosmetic clean-up.

Daily, as a part of my wellness regimen, I consume 3 capsules of Hemp Seed Oil and occasionally also use the oil to make salad dressings or throw it in a smoothie. Its a super nutty flavor so be easy with it and do NOT cook with this oil as it is not meant for high temperatures

I add my infused coconut oil (containing both decarboxylated and undercarboxylated THC and CBD) to my coffee daily, which I might also add I brew in a hemp coffee filter, which by the way makes my coffee taste better than a french press.

I know that is an extreme statement but just try it.

Daily I usually also consume an accompanying 25-75ml of my full spectrum CBD oil. I have tried many brands but medical-grade oils that are grown with intention and processed the same are important to me. I obtain my oil from ThumbCoast Southfield CBD.

Every day that I have a hemp clothing item clean I will most likely wear it. it just feels so good on my skin and is hardly noticeable after a while. it's like walking around naked but you're clothed.

Hemp Bread from our local whole foods and Hemp Hearts add to any of our salads, cereals, oatmeal, or any other plates we may need a little crunch in.

Throughout the day joints are my preferred method of conscious and intentional communion with this sacred plant medicine.

On nights with trouble sleeping, because they happen to us all, I use edibles, as they usually put me to sleep. Something with the way it bypasses the liver in this method induces sleep for me regardless of whether certain cannabinoids are used or not.

So there you have it.

15 different communions in one day with this sacred plant medicine. Most of which my underage son can partake in regularly, safely, and effectively.

Cannabis as a plant has the ability to provide us with medicine, material, and nutritional properties. Just looking at this plant as a way to get high is utter ignorance of the full spectrum of abilities and offerings it has for us as a society.

Nydia’s knowledge of the cannabis plant, and spiritual and historical contexts makes her one of a kind in her consultation services.

Let us light the path for others to follow by investing in thoughtful conversations on proper education before partaking or consuming – something that is only offered through professionals like Nydia.
